Korean "Cuteness" Culture-애교 문화
In Korea, there is a thing called "애교" which can be translated as "Cuteness".
Then, what is 애교?
It's acting charming in a cute way. The way most babies and kids are doing, their immature pronunciations, and their acting like the way they're asking their parents for Christmas present or something. A grown up being acting like a baby in an artificial way can be pretty awkward. But there might be some persons who have this 애교 innately even though they don't realize that they have it, because in western culture they don't really care about or differentiate or even people don't have a proper term to call it.
It's similar in Korea. The born-cute girls don't think they have this 애교, because it's very natural not artificial so they don't really recognize themselves. And there is a perception that women can have some this "애교" (i.e. cuteness), and in many Korean TV shows, many girl group members or young female celebrities are required to show their 애교 to the viewers, regardless of whether they have this or not. And these days, even for young male celebrities are asked to show their 애교.
