American English Proverbs - 6

منذ ٥ أعوام
Where there’s smoke there’s fire.

Equivalent in Spanish: Cuando el río suena, agua lleva.
(when there is evidence of a problem, there probably is a problem)

Example:
When the night watchman started on his routine patrol of the premises, he noticed that the door to one of the buildings was ajar. Since the building was located in a security area, he immediately jumped to the conclusion that where there’s smoke, there’s fire. The doors of all the buildings were supposed to be tightly secured after working hours, and the night watchman had been trained to think that if there’s evidence of a problem, there probably is a problem.
