What is the most challenging aspect of writing for ESL students?

What makes writing feel the most daunting? Is it confidence, grammar, subject matter, vocabulary or something else? 

Do you prefer writing fiction or non-fiction in learning exercises? 

What type of writing would you most like to feel comfortable completing? For example, do you want to write essays, job applications, letters to friends, or creative prose?
