ABOUT ME
안녕하세요! I’m Jun, your dedicated Korean language tutor with over 5 years of teaching experience. As a certified Korean teacher, I have taught over 5000 lessons to students from all around the world. I was born in Korean and lived there for over 25 years, then I spent 2 years in Australia, and now living in Taiwan. So I understand the challenges of learning a new language from multiple perspectives. My personal experiences in learning English and Chinese have equipped me with the empathy and techniques to help my students overcome their own hurdles. I also enjoy discussing a wide range of topics, which makes our lessons more engaging and enjoyable.

✅ General Lessons
From absolute beginners to advanced learners, I provide tailored lessons to meet your needs. If you're unsure of your level, we can start with a trial lesson to assess your proficiency and create a personalized learning plan.
Our lessons focus on practicing real-life conversations beyond textbooks, ensuring you gain practical speaking skills. I use a variety of engaging materials, including videos, podcasts, quizzes, songs and music videos, to make learning both effective and enjoyable.
[Absolute Beginner]
We'll start with Hangul, the Korean alphabet, and basic vocabulary and grammar. Lessons will primarily be in English, but I'll gradually introduce simple Korean phrases to build your confidence and help you start using the language in everyday situations.
[Beginner]
If you already know some Hangul and basic grammar but need more practice, we’ll focus on expanding your grammar and vocabulary. We'll encourage you to speak more Korean, and the classes will progressively shift from English to Korean. You'll practice more complex sentences and daily conversations to build fluency and confidence.
[Intermediate]
At the intermediate level, we focus on enhancing speaking skills rather than just grammar. You'll engage in discussions on diverse topics, participate in role-playing activities to simulate real-life scenarios, and practice debating to build confidence and fluency. We'll expand your vocabulary with thematic words and idiomatic expressions and use media such as Korean dramas and news to boost your listening skills and cultural understanding. Additionally, you'll integrate writing exercises like essays and letters to apply language in different contexts, with feedback provided to refine and improve your skills.
[Advanced]
For advanced learners, our lessons will be fully immersive and challenging. We’ll explore advanced vocabulary, nuanced grammar, and specialized topics. You'll engage in debates, presentations, and comprehensive writing assignments. We'll also analyze Korean literature, films, and news articles to deepen your understanding of the language and culture.

Looking for informal practice? We can also have free-talking sessions where you can practice speaking Korean on various topics of your choice. This is a great way to improve fluency and confidence in a relaxed setting.
✅ Travel Korean
Planning a trip to Korea? This course will equip you with essential phrases and vocabulary to help you navigate through your travels with ease. From ordering food at restaurants, asking for directions, shopping, and booking accommodations to understanding cultural etiquette, this course covers it all. Practical role-playing activities and real-life scenario practices ensure you feel confident and prepared for your trip.

Preparing for the TOPIK? I offer specialized lessons to help you succeed. Here’s how I can help:
Writing: Submit your writing a day before class. I’ll correct grammar, improve expressions, and provide insights into Korean culture to make your writing more natural.
Reading and Listening: Understand common question types and practice with mock tests to build speed and accuracy. We’ll focus on strategies to tackle each section effectively.
Vocabulary and Grammar: Learn the key vocabulary and grammar rules frequently tested on the TOPIK. Practice with exercises designed to reinforce these concepts.

1. Please review the lesson policies before scheduling a lesson: The full fee will be charged for unnotified absences.
2. There is a 20-minute wait policy for late arrivals. If you do not attend the lesson within 20 minutes, the lesson will be considered missed.
3. For cancellations due to emergencies or made with less than 12 hours' notice, a 50% refund of the lesson fee will be offered.
