Hi! I'm Louise. I'm originally from Cambridge in the UK but since becoming a teacher in 2007 I have lived and worked in Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Russia and Romania where I currently live.
I have a masters degree in anthropology and a Trinity CertTESOL from Trinity college London. I have taught all ages and levels and have also taught business English to corporate clients and I have extensive experience teaching exam English. I used to be an IELTS examiner and am very familiar with it. I have also prepared people for Cambridge exams, TOEFL, TOEIC anf PTE.
With general English my main goal is to get learners to communicate. While I do work with vocabulary and grammer, I feel the best way to learn is through using the language. With this in mind we do a lot of work with speaking, writing and using authentic texts. Doing this will enable you to deal with a wide variety of situations.
With exam English you will get a lot of practice for each part of the exam. I also try and incorporate language practice for areas of weakness. I will offer grading and tell you exactly why I have offered these marks.
