FB Likes, texts, emojis, haha hehe, and bellyaching snips
vor 3 JahrenI'll be 75 this year, it is sad to witness the demise of actual writing as a means of communication.
In my day, writing was the only means to keep in touch with distant friends and relatives, except if you were rich enough to afford a long-distance phone call. Most people of my time enjoyed writing, and receiving a letter was twice as heartwarming.
Now, I wonder if the masses are even capable of writing an intelligible string of words, or even worse, able to think beyond the sentiments of an emojis, a haha hehe, text, or tweet.
I checked the Verbling Articles to see when the last submission was; it was over two years ago.
When I first started here, there were more than a few writers. These Community forums were a lot more stimulating then! More teachers and students had a voice and were able to express it. Now?
I also looked back as far as I could in the two communities for a single string of words, and - well, I'll only say it is sad.
I would think we are all here, both teachers and students, Academics.
Are we becoming the voiceless FB generation?
