Which one of the sentences below is correct? 🤔
- Se eu a vir hoje, aviso que você quer visitá-la.
- Se eu a ver hoje, aviso que você quer visitá-la.
Hard, isn't it?
The confusion happens because "ver" and "vir" are irregular verbs, I mean, the conjugation changes the radical of the word in some tenses verbal.
The irregular verb is one whose conjugation changes not only the ending as regular verbs, but also the radical.
"Ver" (infinitive) is the verb that means to look, to observe, to see. "Vir" means to move, to a place, to go. The confusion lies in the fact that the future of the subjunctive of "ver" is "vir", since it is an irregular verb. In other words, when you use the phrase "se eu a vir" (remembering that the subjunctive is the verbal way that expresses doubt or uncertainty about the action), you are speaking of the verb "ver" in the sense of "se eu a encontrar", but in the verbal tense of the future of the subjunctive.
