Turkish Linguistic Facts V - Plurality
hace 6 añosUnlike Latin, Arab and Slavic Languages which make changes in nouns in order to make them plural, in Turkish "-lar" or "-ler" is attached to the end of a word only according to vowel harmony.
And unlike in English and Italian, descriptive and demonstrative adjectives are not affected by plurality. Since the plural suffix is not used with numeral adjectives, there is no confusion as "Decimal multipliers of 1 shall be regarded singular or plural?"
Also unlike in Japanese, despite being a sister language, different counter suffixes are not applied depending on the shapes and concepts of objects.
