The amazing power of pictures

Hey there,

The saying "A picture paints a thousand words" is very true, and I understand that all learners are different, some students prefer a simple drawing rather than a long story or a definition that can take up valuable lesson time.

I recently bought a very small dry wipe board to serve as a tool during my lessons. I love being able to create and draw simple pictures that can easily communicate complicated ideas very easily. In my years teaching English as a second language I have used this method on many occasions and it usually makes my students laugh, as I am a terrible artist.
