À propos de moi
Grammar geek. Language enthusiast. Pronunciation doctor.
Teaching languages since 2014.
Looking for new students.
🙂
Hey, my name is David. I was born in the USSR and I am currently living in Armenia. I speak four languages. My mother tongue is Russian and my "father tongue" is Armenian. :-)
🔹 Stuff I can help you with:
- Speaking Confidence
- Pronunciation and Accent Reduction
(I pay a lot of attention to my own English pronunciation. I personally think pronunciation is important)
- Grammar
(the more you learn the more you like grammar because grammar is difficult and beautiful)
- Vocabulary
(vocab is acquired easily when the topic is relevant and interesting or even compelling to you)
- Speaking Practice
- Reading Comprehension
also
- Spoken Phrases and Idioms
- Cultural Insights
🔹 My students are:
Entrepreneurs, software engineers, CEOs, college teachers, college/university students, ballet dancers, former government workers and others.
I've taught students of different ages starting from 5 to 60+.
(I currently don't teach kids.)
I've taught people from all over the world, but I have an expertise with English speakers from native English speaking countries:
The United States, Australia and The United Kingdom.
As well as English speakers from non-native English speaking countries:
Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and others.
Thanks for reading my About me section!
See you in class soon! :-)
🔸 P.S.
A SHORT NOTE ON LANGUAGE LEARNING
Don't want to waste your time I believe that language learning requires work. My part is mainly to make it fun and accessible for you and help you reach your goals.
Firstly, you are not a toddler (in terms of language acquisition) so understanding what goes on and how "the engine" works is essential. That's why studying grammar is crucial.
To develop listening and speaking skills, listening to native speakers a lot can really help. When I mean a lot I mean a lot. Ideally, a couple of hours a day, if you want to see results. But the content has to be COMPREHENSIBLE, relevant and interesting and even compelling to you, otherwise you may get tired and may be even annoyed. Watching YouTube videos (in your target language) on topics you love can be really helpful.
And that's how you will start picking up new vocabulary. A lot of new words will enter and stay in your memory effortlessly and organically. When you hear the same word ten or fifteen times used naturally in the same natural context it sticks in your head. That's it! It's there! You won't be able to shake it from your memory if you even want to.
"We acquire language in one way, and only one way: when we get comprehensible input in a low anxiety environment." Stephen Krashen
Thanks again, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. :-)

Mes leçons d’essai
In this session, we will get to know each other.
Normally, I have the students acquainted with the methods and materials I use. I make sure I understand your goals. If there aren't any specific ones we can establish them and discuss ways of accomplishing them.
Then we can have a portion of a real lesson so you can try and see what the lessons are actually like (trial speaks for itself).
Look forward to seeing you in class soon! :-)
