BRITISH CULTURE: ALPHABET (C)

I'm writing about British culture.
I thought a cool way to introduce some British culture into the Verbling community would be to work through the alphabet and talk about a topic for each letter.
So, for C we are focusing on.....
Castles.
The UK has loads of castles. Throughout the ages these were used by large, noble families or the Royal Family to defend their land from invaders.
There are actually three main types of castle; the motte and bailey castle, the stone keep castle, and the concentric castle.
You can see the different types in the picture below. As you can see, over time castles developed and became more complex.
Whilst most people may think that England has the most castles, there are actually more castles found in Wales than any other country in the UK. If you want to see the coolest castles, check out the list from The Telegraph:
