Hello there, thanks for checking out my profile :)
Here are some basics about me... I am a native English speaker from Seattle, USA. I have lived in Germany for the last 3 years and, yes, I am also learning a foreign language so I understand the struggle! I am TEFL certified and got my BA in Communications and French Studies from the University of Washington. I have been teaching English as a second language for 3 years with an online company in China for kids and locally at a center for working professionals. I have also taught a couple junior classes of 11-15 years olds for a one-week intensive English summer camp in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
I am a very encouraging and friendly person. Creating a positive classroom environment is important to me. My goal is always to help you reach YOUR goals! So depending on those goals we may read articles together to fine-tune your pronunciation, play games for close listening, refresh forgotten grammar or make conversation to expand your vocabulary. I have worked with children on their first words in English and I have worked on insurance specific language for professionals. Whichever side of that spectrum you fall into, I would be happy to help you. I am an open-minded and flexible person, so feel free to ask me any questions you have or make a request to work on a specific language point...if not I will always have something prepared for you!
Confidence is key! But sometimes test scores are helpful, too! Let's prepare for an exam or perhaps work on a presentation. Got a vacation coming up? Let's brush up on some important topics. If you're integrating into a new culture, sometimes just reading your mail can be difficult. Let's do it together!
