5 German TV shows for kids - and you

Watching a film or a TV show in German will help you to improve your understanding of the language. Furthermore, it will give you the chance to get used to the sound of the German language and to adapt to the pronunciation of the words. Besides that, it´s a fun way to study.

If you have a Netflix account you can basically watch most of the popular TV shows in English and German. As far as I know, films as well. So why not watching your favourite TV show in German?

If you want to watch something shorter or easier to understand (as adult TV shows might be difficult to understand. I am still struggling to understand Sherlock...) then I can recommend you these TV shows for kids which you can also find on youtube. Another advantage is that kids shows are usually shorter. So just enjoy German just for 20 instead of 90 minutes. :) The shows are more classic, basically I watched them when I was little.

If you want to ...be able to chat with people in the private and/or at work (and maybe even make jokes). ...be able to understand your friends messages, articles and other written German. ...master the application process for a job in Germany, Switzerland or Austria: and understand what matters when you get a job. ...know if you have to eat Bratwurst and drink beer on a regular base to REALLY understand the German mind.
