Before Verbling, how were you learning language?

I am doing a collaboration that I find downright SCARY this year, in the spirit of bravery, curiosity and expansion. Actually, my students, as well as all the language learners on this site are my inspiration! Your commitment to your dreams, interests and growth is breathtaking. For that, I thank you all 🙏🏾
That being said, I am testing the waters a little here and would love to know how you were learning language before you decided to sign up for Verbling? Did you ever use YouTube? And if so, what did you find most and least useful about learning on that platform?
