'Scouse' Phrases from Liverpool, England

5년 전
I live near to Liverpool in England, and I have recently found a list of 'scouse nan' sayings - colloquial phrases spoken by women of advanced years in the Liverpool area (although I am sure men say them too). There is some beautifully colourful language here, if you can make any sense of it! The meaning of these phrases might be difficult for many younger people in my region!

What could some of these mean?

1) "If I don't see you through the week, I'll see you through the window."
2) "Close the door...were you born in a barn?"
3) "I'll be waiting til Dick docks and he hasn't got a boat."
4) "You'd trip over a match with the wood scraped off."
5) "If he put his hand down the toilet he'd find a gold watch."
6) "Take a walk til your hat floats."
7) "She would make a glass eye cry."
8) "Don't come running to me if you break your leg."
9) "Go home will you? Your ma's got a cake!"
10) "She wouldn't laugh if she saw a chair walk."
