They look almost exactly the same, right?! I have lost count of the times I have seen massage used instead of message. Now, there is quite a big difference and knowing that can remove the threat of a potentially embarrassing moment! Let's see...
 
message (n) /mɛsɪdʒ/ : a spoken, written or recorded communication (email, sms) which is left for a receiver who cannot be contacted.

massage (n) /masɑː(d)ʒ/ :  the rubbing of muscles and joints of the body with hands, especially to relieve tension or pain.
