A little reflection

Learning a new language can be one of the most important challenges in people's lives. Depending on the situation, that decision may mean improving your working life, your life as a student or simply your life as a human being, because in the latter case, you will be able to better understand the other, that other who speaks the language that you are learning.

My proposal is to help you enjoy the learning trip. Not seeing it as a burden but as an opportunity to expand your worldview. We may be more or less skilled in acquiring a new language, but if we change the focus of attention and think of all this as an investment for our lives and not as a waste of time or a hard work or study imposition, we will enjoy the process of learning a new language: everything will flow more naturally.

I’m a Chilean native Spanish speaker. Apart from my life in Chile, I have lived in the United States and Spain. I taught Spanish for the US Department of State and the University of Mary Washington for more than three years. I have an M.A. in Chilean and Hispano-American Literature and I have an M.A in Creative Writing in Spanish, I’m the author of three books, and worked for 20 years as an Industrial Civil Engineer. Currently, I’m living in Santiago. My philosophy for teaching is straight forward. I think that learning a new language is an opportunity for changing the world, particularly your world. It’s a powerful tool for building new realities. My methodology involves connecting personal and business interests with the target language using deductive grammar and systemic thinking. In this way, we make up a team. We work with opinion articles, columns, and short stories which we should read previously for generating high-level talks and useful vocabulary that allow you to progres...
