Polish comics are amazing!
3 anos atrásThis week I have another piece of news for you from the Polski Daily!
Polish comic market is rather small but it’s also really great! Today I wanted to recommend you one of the authors and his work! :)
You probably never heard of this writer, nor about his comic book, but don’t worry, I personally discovered them only recently. So what is it all about? I’m talking about a series of comic books about a superhero called Bler, by Rafał Szłapa. His newest comic book has been released on his website completely for free and anyone can download it and read it!
Bler is an average, normal, regular guy, lives in Kraków and sells books there, and one day, his life turns up side down. He’s in a car crash, and afterwards he wakes up in a hospital to discover that… he has superpowers! For example, he can see through the walls, as if he had an x-ray in his eyes. With time, Bler learns to use his powers to fight crime and evil, but not in a sense of some super enemy, that wants to destroy the universe, and more with the „everyday evil” - like the father who beats his sons, or a thief who plans to rob a bank.
„The aura of mystery and uncertainty is even stronger emphasized by the author’s drawings. At first glance they seem a bit rough on the edges, created with heavy dashes of black ink. But this exact style is simply perfect to underline all of the difficult and dark aspects the author wanted to us to focus on. Polish reality is no colourful America – here, truly, the worst kind of crimes are happening behind the closed doors of all the houses and flats.” - that’s a bit of how the experts of the genre are writing in their reviews.
I don’t know how about you, but for me it sounds really interesting!
Cheers!
