Symbol of Thailand...Buffaloes ^^
Yes, that't right. Buffalo is one of the unique symbols of Thailand, I'm really proud to say that my family have taken care of 2 buffaloes which are the mother and her son. Their name are Boonchok and Meena. We love them so much.
Speaking about any buffaloes in Thailand, we would think of how super hard - working, patient, tough, rough and faithful they are. In the past, the process to produce rice (jasmine and stinky rice) people used their buffaloes to help. Buffalo is one of the greatest and grateful animals for Thais because THEY MAKE US RICE, THEY MAKE US FULL.
As you can see in the picture above, there is ....... on the buffalo, it's very heavy. Every buffalo that is used to help, it always has to carry this and drag in front of a farmer until that farmer thinks it should be done. This picture shows lots of old memories and real Thai culture but also very sad in the same time to see them being used like slaves.
Anyway, I'm so glad that for more than 20 years that most of Thais don't use buffaloes to help anymore because we have technology to help instead. There are very few farmers still use their buffaloes.
