'Rules' in English!
5 лет назадAs you all know there are many 'rules' in English! Although it is rare these days, some die-hard linguists still insist on some of the rules below. Have a look and see if you can figure out how each one is broken according to the rule! ;)
o Remember to never split an infinitive.
o Don't ever use contractions.
o And never start a sentence with a conjunction.
o Never write i before e except after c. I'm relieved to receive this anciently weird rule!
o You've done good to use adverbs correctly.
o Tell the rule about 'whom' to who you like.
o Use fewer with number and less with quantity. Less and less people do.
o A preposition is a terrible way to end a sentence. Never do it.
