Hi! I’m Heeyoung, a native Korean with 10+ years of teaching experience, now living in France. Having spent half my life abroad, being in international relationships, and raising a multilingual child, I know the challenges and joys of language learning firsthand. I'm passionate about education and art, and I stay curious about diverse subjects and ways of living.
I specialize in helping beginners of all ages, from teens to seniors, many of whom continue studying with me long-term. Whether you’re adjusting to life overseas, exploring your Korean roots, or beginning your language journey, I’ll meet you at your pace with patience and warmth. 🌼

✏️ My lessons and teaching style:
My lessons focus on everyday conversation and speaking. We’ll cover grammar and vocabulary, but with minimal lecture—you’ll spend most of the class actively using Korean.
You'll make your own sentences, and I'll guide you through struggles and help you take the next small steps. It's okay to be shy, slow, or feel embarrassed—that's completely normal! I'm here to support you so you can become more confident, active, and independent.
I also offer a range of exercises and homework to help you develop reading, listening, and writing skills as well. To learn more about what and how I teach, please read the course descriptions below.
📚 COURSES (55min) 📚
🌱 BEGINNERS
Goal: Reading Korean effortlessly and feeling comfortable with basic conversation.
- Hangeul (Korean alphabets) / Reading words
- Pronunciation and intonation correction
- Basic grammar including past and future tense / Informal polite form (-요) / Learning how to greet, ask questions and answer, and talk about locations, family, food, weather, your emotions and everyday life / Common expressions / Getting used to the different particles 은/는, 이/가, 을/를 etc.
We'll learn basic grammar and sentence structures and practice reading and speaking through short dialogues. I'll be teaching mostly in English at first but I'll start to limit it whenever possible.
🌳 INTERMEDIATE
Goal: Having longer free conversations about everyday life and on a given topic.
- Getting used to different levels of politeness, mainly the honorific form (-시-) and informal casual.
- Advanced grammar including reported speech and common sentence endings (-네요, -잖아d요, -냐고요? -지요?)
For this level, I'll be using textbooks with audios to listen to. I'll only try to use English when explaining grammar or something complicated.
