CUCINA DELLA ZUCCA

Prepare some pumpkin

I do confess that this is one of my favourite verbs....not grammatically but practically :-)
CUCINARE means TO COOK / TO PREPARE FOOD and to me - as for many other Italians - this is really a relaxing activity!

CUCINARE should not be confused with CUOCERE (which is a more complex verb, grammatically speaking!)!

CUOCERE --> you use fire (or other source of energy) to change the food status from raw to cooked
CUCINARE --> you take time to prepare food with a series of different actions, usually putting a sprinkle of joy and love in what you do...or at least a little bit of intentionality ;-)

Present tense
IO CUCINO
TU CUCINI
LUI/LEI CUCINA
NOI CUCINIAMO
VOI CUCINATE
LORO CUCINANO

Imperative tense
CUCINA (TU)
CUCINATE (VOI)

Pay attention to the article I've used!

Cucina DELLA zucca --> partitive article = a certain amount of pumpkin, without specifying
Cucina LA zucca --> determinative article = a specific whole pumpkin that you already have
Cucina UNA zucca --> undeterminative article = an entire pumpkin of your choice among others

Here's what I have prepared with my pumpkin today (HERE) according to my AUTUMN BUCKET LIST :-)
