British Culture: ALPHABET (B)

I'm writing about British culture.
I thought a cool way to introduce some British culture into the Verbling community would be to work through the alphabet and talk about a topic for each letter.
So, for B we are focusing on.....
THE BEATLES
The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The line up included John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They are regarded as the most influential band of all time.
The Beatles were at the forefront of the so-called British Invasion, which was a time when British culture (think Union Jack clothes etc) and British music was hugely popular.
They are the best selling band in history, having sold over 800 million albums worldwide. They are famous for having recorded at Abbey Road Studios and even recorded an album of the same name.
Unfortunately, only two members are still alive, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. John Lennon was assassinated in 1980 and George Harrison died of cancer in 2001.
