How do you study language?

I like to use a lot of flashcards and then review the periodically. I make stacks of about 50, master them, and then place them into a box until I am ready to review them again.

I also like to watch TV shows, and I will watch an episode repeatedly until I can reasonably understand it. 

Please share any unique strategies that you use!
