I am a Spanish qualified teacher (PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages, Bristol University) . I am from beautiful Valencia in Spain :).
I offer Spanish fun, rewarding one-to-one lessons. I specialise in teaching & preparing students for the IGCSE, IB and AP exams but I have also experience teaching adults.
My teaching has a communicative approach combined with a good basis of explicit and implicit grammar. I offer conversation based lessons, beginner lessons, preparations for exams and challenging lessons for those who are already at an advanced level.
I started teaching in 2009 and I have taught people of many nationalities and ages. I very much enjoy teaching languages and the cultural elements that this entails.
I see myself as a teacher who delivers balanced and effective lessons, enabling students to thrive and perform to the highest standards.

Maria is new to Verbling but obviously not new to teaching. She was a very efficient, organized, and rigorous professor. After speaking with me for a few minutes to get to know me a little and figure out my level of Spanish, she conducted some very fun exercises with me, and methodically wrote down every word and phrase I did not know or said incorrectly. At the end of the class she wrapped things up by reviewing words and phrases that she had taught me during the class. Her teaching style is highly effective -- the perfect mix of conversation and substantive learning -- and I recommend her to everyone.
