Gisele teaches Portuguese as a non-native language and works in online education with students of various nationalities. She holds a Master's in teaching Portuguese as a non-native language at the University of Minho in Portugal, a Bachelor's degree in Language and Literature from UERJ and a postgraduate certificate in Distance Education. She has worked as a public education teacher in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for several years. She has worked as an Education Methods Specialist in the scientific initiation scholarship program at UFRJ. In 2019, Gisele volunteered to work for the International Humanity Foundation as a curriculum and teacher training team leader, coordinating and proposing educational solutions for underprivileged children in Africa and Asia. She is the coauthor of "Materias didáticos em línguas com foco na diversidade étnico-racial".Moreover, she researches Mozambican women's literature and its intercultural contribution to PLNM classes.
