Árabe para hablantes de Español

Hola!

Learning languages is why we're all here. And when speaking about learning a language, the first thing that comes up to my mind is my Spanish learning experience. Si, Español!

Why not English? Well, because I fell in love far more with Spanish than I did with English.

The reason? I'm a native Arabic speaker.

I still remember my high school Spanish teacher leaning on my desk holding a book in her hand and showing me how that book contains thousands of Arabic words used in Spanish. The amazement begins...

Not only did I find those words pretty familiar, but I instantly built a connection with Spanish. I knew that I would enjoy learning Spanish because of this. I was also able to pronounce Spanish words correctly as if I was a native Spanish speaker. Well, that's what they said, not me!

This was all thanks to Arabic phonetics, which had already prepared me with the necessary skills you need to start you off in Spanish.

Aside from all that, here are some other similarities the two languages share:

Gender forms - Did you know that Arabic also has feminine and masculine noun forms?

Definite article - Arabic's definite article is also pronounced as AL & EL.

Noun-adjective order - In Arabic, the adjectives always come AFTER the nouns, and not vice versa like in English.

Easy to read - Arabic is read as it is spelled. No silent letters, no complicated reading rules. You even have short vowels attached to the letters to help you read correctly when needed.

Show respect! - In Arabic dialects, you have two ways to address your listener, just like tu and usted.

There are many other similarities in Arabic and Spanish that make me wish I had more time to continue learning this amazing language. But if you're a Spanish speaker and wanting to learn a foreign language, then Arabic is your treasure of gems. Not only will you learn a rich, beautiful language, but you will also master it quite fast!

So don't hesitate to start this outstanding experience. See you soon in class!

Adiós :)

Hello, there! Or shall I say Assalamu Alaikum :) This is Nour Mohamed, and once you read this name, you automatically know it's Arabic. This is exactly why I'm here; to teach you the beauty of the Arabic language. I was once a language learner myself, learning English in the USA when I migrated with my family when I was 12. I've always had this experience haunting me while growing up, wondering if others feel the same as well. Now that I'm fluent in both languages (thankfully) and experiencing what it feels like to be fluent in more than one language, I want to help others feel the same way. That's why I started English tutoring to non-English speakers in 2016, and a year later, started Arabic online tutoring to non-Arabic speakers. I believe in learning one step at a time, allowing yourself to practice what you've learned immediately so you don't pile up on yourself and end up forgetting what you have learnt at the very beginning of your journey. So join me, and let's have thi...
