My name is Karen and I live in South Africa. I am a native English speaker and I've been in the teaching field for the last 22 years. I am a qualified Tesol English teacher. I also qualified in a Teylt course which is a course for teaching young learners and teenagers. I have been teaching online for 6 years and have students ranging from Beginners to Upper Advance. I also enjoy teaching all ages from children to adults.
I previously had my own business where I ran a development programme at pre-schools, assisting 2 to 5 year-olds to be school ready. I also worked at a school in the afternoons assisting children of all ages with extra classes.
I am passionate about teaching! Each student has different needs and strengths and it is important for me to adapt my classes to get the best results for every student.
I enjoy adding creative aspects to teaching because I believe creativity helps with concentration and makes a student more receptive to information. I don't want students to be bored.
I am thorough and always recap information and concepts - however the best way to learn English is just to simply speak it as much as possible.
