Culture Shocks!

When you first move abroad, you are likely to experience some culture shocks.

Moving across the globe from the UK to Mexico was definitely a huge change for me!

The biggest culture shock was time. Mexican time is a thing! Everything happens a little (sometimes a lot) later than what was originally agreed. I've been here for a year and a half and I am still adapting to this more laid back way of life.

Mexicans also have very heavy breakfasts. All my stomach wants is a light bowl of cereal but here it is normal to eat a big breakfast. Also everything is spicy! I have a horror story about pizza. I took one bite and had tears running down my face. I love spicy foods and am no stranger to an Indian curry at home but the Mexican spice is next level!

Mexicans are wonderful, kind people which I have found refreshing. I feel happier in my surroundings and have been made to feel so welcome by locals and expats alike. People here love to dance, listen to music and have fun so it is hard not to smile when you are in Mexico.

Please share your experiences about living abroad or travelling abroad. I would love to hear them!
