OMG! Tough questions. I'm going to begin by saying that I don't study English but rather learn it. It's a never ending story for me. That said, I'm going to add that I don't have any real structured study plan, except trying to work simultaneously on the whole skills -Speaking, listening, reading and writing- everyday.
Damnable, dreadful stuff when it comes to learn, whatever you undertake, is to have the feeling that you hit a plateau. That can be very frustrating even that feeling doesn't reflex reality.
To end up, let me share some tips and tricks that have been helping me go on enjoying that stupendous adventure.
First one, have fun!
Then, don't give up and keep in mind that there are three steps in every learning process, A phase of acquisition of new knowledge, followed by a latency period, apparently sterile, then an active phase, a kind of unlocking.
Finally, remain open minded, flee easy solutions like translation, bilingual dictionary, subtitles, etc... even if you don't understand everything, even if watching your first movie or reading your first novel could be such a pain in the neck, do it from the beginning. Challenge yourself!
