In the news today....
4 years agoSo, as a learner of Spanish and a teacher of English, I obsess with reading the news. It's great for vocab, grammar etc. But, when it comes to reading the headlines, have you ever noticed how, due to a lack of space or maybe with the intention of grabbing our attention, the grammar used is terrible. So much so it can be difficult to understand the true meaning. And sometime, the results are...well, kind of funny!
Who can explain what these headlines should look like with proper grammatical sentences?
- Panda mating fails: veterinarian takes over
- Miners refuse to work after death
- New obesity study looks for larger test group
- Children make nutritious snacks
- Criminals get nine months in violin case
