4. Avid = to be enthusiastic or keen about something.
5. Precocious = having developed certain abilities at an earlier age than is usual.

The way I see it, even though it is quite clear he is past his best, Rooney is still only 31 years old. He has much to offer a Premier League team other than Manchester United, and I think it's great that he has decided to stay in England, rather than making a wedge (a lot of money) in China or the USA. He will give the youth of Everton someone to look up to, as he has experience in the Champions League, winning Premier League titles, and international caps. I hope he does well back at his hometown club, he gets a little too much stick (people making fun of him) considering he's broken many goalscoring records and won many accolades (an award, or special honour) and trophies. What do you think?
