This is a very personalized question, but I'm curious to know what the most challenging aspect of learning English is for you?

Prepositions are really challenging aspects of learning English. For instance, the use of "about" and "Of".

The most challenging aspect for me is to practice and evolve the speaking and listening skills when you leave in a country where there is absolute no need for english in your daily life once everything is written and spoken in your native language everywhere and you don't see many foreign tourists around in your city. I've had the luck to work in a field where all the info is spread on the internet in english so reading and writing is ok to me, but when it comes to speaking I have a lot of problems with accent, pronunciation and the *worst* is that words doesn't come fast enough to my head so it is easy to make a conversation boring as sometimes people will have to wait for me to gather the the right words from the depths of my brain haha (let alone when I don't find them at all)... The listening part is also very difficult to me. When you practice listening on the internet it is always in a very controlled environment, very different from what you find walking the streets of an american city for example, when you come across random people w/ lots of environmental noise... simulating these conditions is very hard. Movies are helping me a lot, the problem is that I consider movies to be in a more advanced level so I question the efficiency of watching movies w/ subtitles but understanding only around 50% of whats is being said. Anyway, hope my answer gives you some insight! All the best :)

Hi Renato,
As a native speaker of Portuguese, is English difficult for you? Most of my students are Spanish speakers and it is very difficult for them, but I know Portuguese (Brazilian Portuguese more than European Portuguese) has more phonetic things in common...

Hi Jackie, thanks for your comment. I do consider english to be a little difficult to me, and I don't think that speaking portuguese helps me in any manner. English has one specific phoneme that we don't have which is the "TH" as in "thought", it is very hard to pronounce properly, it is like we don't have the tongue mechanic trained so it always feels a little weird!
