I have a Bachelors degree in Classical Philosophy from California State University and an English teaching certification from Oxford Seminars in New York City. I am currently learning Spanish through Verbling, so I can directly relate to the difficulties and joys of being an adult language learner. I've taught English in the classroom in Mexico, Thailand, Cambodia and the US. My name is Jeff and I teach conversation, grammar, reading comprehension, writing, and SAT/ACT/SSAT/HSPT prep. From 1998 to April 2003, I lived in Taipei, Taiwan, teaching ESL and studyingMandarin. After leaving Taiwan, I moved on to Honolulu, where I again found employment as an ESL instructor. This stint was brief because of my desire to attend graduate school in San Francisco, where I studied Mandarin and began teaching test prep. For 16 years (2005-2021) I was the English Department Head at Elite Educational Institute, a test prep company.
