Strange Job Interview Questions
Job interviews can be very stressful, especially when you are being interviewed in a language you still practicing. Some of the normal questions they ask, like “ What is your greatest weakness? ” Can be hard enough to answer so it can be even more stressful when they ask you a strange question that you haven´t prepared for.
We are told the interviewers ask these questions so they can really see how you answer a question that you haven´t thought about and practiced a hundred times already. They may also want to see how you function under stress and to see the ¨real you¨
Many of these questions may have no right or wrong answer, and some you may find too personal.
When answering the unexpected question the best thing to be is to keep your composure and answer as honestly as you can.
Here are just a small sample of unusual questions that could be asked at a job interview. Some of them I have actually been asked at interviews.
Would you rather fight 1 horse-sized duck, or 100 duck-sized horses?
What were you like in high school?
If you don’t get this job, what’s your backup plan?
If you woke up and had 2,000 unread emails and could only answer 300 of them, how would you choose which ones to answer?
How honest are you?
Do you wear jeans outside of work?
How would you describe the color Yellow to a blind person?
Do you like to sing in the bath?
What did You Have for Breakfast?
What’s your favorite cartoon and why?
The best way to practice for these is to practice answering questions like these and to think about how to answer them.
