Have you made your New Year’s resolution list yet?

Have you made your New Year’s resolution list yet?

If you are making a New Year’s resolution list here are three phrasal verbs that might be useful:

to give up = to stop or quit
e.g.. I am going to give up smoking. Or… I am going to give up eating chocolate.

to cut down on = to reduce
e.g… I am going to cut down on the amount of coffee I drink every day.

to take up = to start doing something (like a hobby or a sport)
e.g… I am going to take up jogging. Or… I am going to take up Yoga.

Also notice that we use ‘going to’ when talking about our future plans and not ‘will’.
Happy New Year!
