I am from Costa Rica a country very popular to visit for its beautiful beaches and that is why in my free time I love to go to the beach with my friends, I love meeting fun people who like to socialize and share, I love watching movies on Netflix.
I have been spending the past few years teaching Spanish as a second language to many people from around the world, and I am so glad to be apart of the Verbling teaching crew!
In my lessons I would like to talk about any topic that is of interest to you, be it the family, places you have visited or the traditional foods from your country or from mine, thus covering informal conversation that allows us to see well what needs to be corrected.
My teaching style is for my students to learn lots of vocabulary so that it is easier for them to have conversations and to know well how and when to use it, also to be able to form sentences.
I am very flexible with the topics of conversation. I look forward to meeting you soon!

I am happy to passed 20 hours with Karen speaking about everything around our life in different countries. Those conversations were exactly what I was looking for. She was open to any subject of conversation, watching carefully for my errors and mistakes.

Great lesson today. Karen was prepared with an activity for us which was perfect for my level. She knows exactly how to correct me while I speak without interrupting the flow of conversation. I was not surprised to find out that Karen has just about completed her teaching degree. I have been a teacher for over 20 years and immediately could tell Karen knew how to teach. Highly recommended! Thank you Karen.
