About Me
**Welcoming new students of all abilities - from all countries**
Hello, I'm a British, London born, Cambridge CELTA qualified teacher with an Honours Degree in English and a Certificate in Education (Cert Ed. Post Compulsory Education). I speak with an easy-to-understand neutral British accent. I've been teaching for over 20 years in the UK and other countries, in classrooms and online and my students range from Upper Beginner to Advanced level. I'm highly motivated, friendly and communicative. I'm passionate about teaching and sharing my love of the English language and culture with others. At the same time I love finding out about different countries and cultures and am always keen to structure lessons so that students can talk about their own customs and traditions.
* Are you looking for a fun and stimulating English teacher?
* Do you need help with increasing your confidence with speaking - do you want to speak in a more natural way?
* Can you remember the grammar you learnt in the past or do you need a refresher?
* Is your vocabulary (and pronunciation) good enough for your needs or do you want to improve on it and learn new ways of saying things?
* Idioms and phrases / phrasal verbs - are these "up to scratch"? - these are what increase fluency and make you sound more like a native English speaker
* Would you like help to pass an exam such as IELTS or OET?
* Have you got an important interview or meeting to attend and want to practise the necessary techniques?
All the above **points are different ways of asking questions and if any of them apply to you then I would love to help you.
My lessons are adapted to meet your needs and they focus on individual goals. They are planned, relaxed, comfortable and professional with a lot of fun as well. I will encourage you to talk (correcting errors as you go along) so that you will gain confidence and be motivated to speak English in public without fear or embarrassment. Whatever you're learning I believe that you learn best in a comfortable, stress-free, relaxed environment and that's how I plan my lessons to be.
My areas of focus: Vocabulary enrichment, pronunciation, conversational English, idioms, writing skills, effective meetings, interviews and presentations. Exam coaching e.g IELTS, OET etc and taking students to the next level. There will also be a good level of culture for you to learn about as I believe language and culture cannot be separated.
If you have any questions before you make your decision, please send me a message. If you don't see the time you'd like to have lessons on my schedule, do contact me as I'm flexible can usually open up slots to suit different times.
