I implement my teaching of Mandarin Chinese using my "comprehensible input" method and TPR method. That is to say I offer practice with what the student already knows, build in a small number of new vocabulary words and grammar points associated with already-learned material, demonstrate with visuals-images, hand gestures, and facial expressions-making corrections naturally within the flow of the conversation, and validating the student as a person and as a learner by answering questions and gently probing the student. My students find it exhilarating to be taught in this way.

During our first trial, on the surface, it may appear to be an ordinary class and a fun spontaneous conversation. However, under the surface, my brain is simultaneously crazily doing some high-speed operations; processing nonstop all the input you offer to me. Each word choice you give to me, your pronunciation flaws, the content you express, the tiny changes of your facial expression, they all contribute to me finding the perfect path to your success!

Frustrated with your Chinese learning progress? Feel you are spending hours studying Chinese and not improving? Please book Benfang - really his precision is incredible. He has this amazing multi-tasking skill to listen to you and engage in conversation but then note down precisely all your pronunciation and intonation mistakes and then forensically corrects them. He also is witty and charismatic so lessons always feel like a joy - he is so good at his job that I have had to book extra classes so I can take class more often!

I currently live in China and I am having a hard time understanding and learning Chinese, however, Teacher Benfang explained everything in such a simple way, that now I'm extremely eager to continue my lessons with him and improve my skills. He has a great sense of humor and makes sure I understand every concept step by step by answering any questions I may have. I fully recommend him to anyone that would like to learn Mandarin, he makes it look so easy! :)
