About Me
Hey there!
I'm Jeremy, a highly qualified English language educator from the United States. I hold four certifications in English language education, including two TEFL and two TESOL, as well as an MA in History from the University of London, a BA in Philosophy from the University of Massachusetts, and an Associates degree in Foreign Languages.
Since 2016, I've been a professional writer, editor, and English instructor, teaching students of all levels and ages from around the globe. My writing has been published worldwide and I've contributed to editing academic journals.
I believe that English proficiency goes beyond grammar and style, which is why I emphasize the importance of understanding culture and history in navigating the world. From Canada to Singapore, Guyana to South Africa, the Anglophone world is vast, and with me, you'll not only focus on Standard American English but also gain insights into the broader language and its speakers. English is a global language that also features idioms, slang, and figurative expressions unique to certain places, times, and people. Understanding and using the language in context is what practical language learning is all about.
My teaching style emphasizes real-world usage and encourages students to become independent learners while incorporating cultural and historical insights into the English language and its people. I understand that each student has their own needs and learning style, which is why I adapt my lessons to meet individual student needs. So, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!
I'm excited to help you achieve your language learning goals and take your English language skills to the next level.
Best regards,
Jeremy

My trial lessons
During our trial lesson, I will evaluate your current level of proficiency and identify your needs and goals. Then, based on my assessment and teaching methods, we will work together to create a personalized lesson plan that suits your individual needs and objectives. I will also provide you with constructive feedback at the end of the lesson. My aim for the trial lesson is to give you a glimpse of my teaching style, assess your language abilities, and assist you in deciding what comes next.
