About Me
My name is Rafah and Arabic is my native language. I teach both Modern Standard Arabic and Levantine Arabic. I have a bachelor’s degree in Arabic Literature from the University of Aleppo in Syria and I obtained a certificate in a course that prepared teachers to teach Arabic to non-native speakers from the American University in Cairo. I am currently taking part in a master’s degree program in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers at a university in Istanbul where I have also given several lectures on the topic. I started teaching Arabic in person in 2003 and online in 2013 and I have since completed over7000 online lessons with students from all over the world.
As an instructor, I am keen on making sure that students are comfortable and I always customize my lessons to each student’s needs. In terms of teaching materials, if you have a specific book you would like to use, I would be happy to teach you from it. Otherwise, after an initial lesson I will be able to gain a sense of your needs and I will provide you with the appropriate materials. I can also record the lessons and provide you with audio or video files that you can use to study after class.
Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you!

Rafah's classes are excellent - she manages to teach mainly in Arabic even for someone like me who is just starting out, which I have found great and not at all as daunting as it sounds. Her introduction of grammatical concepts is clear and her focus on pronunciation very valuable. The materials which she has made for our classes have been good as a way of focusing the class and giving it structure, while also providing something to go over outside the class.

Rafah's method is systematic and focused. She picks a subject, gives homework and then meticulously goes through the work with you and gives detailed explanations about which words to use and when to use them. I have seldom seen a teacher of language with such concentration. She is excellent in every way.
