About Me
I have been an educator for more than 20 years with various disciplines as well as age and ethnic groups. I am TEFL certified
I was a vocal teacher to some of the top artists in South Africa. As a vocal trainer, a tremendous emphasis is placed on pronunciation. Without the correct pronunciation of vowels and consonants, the vocalist cannot effectively control their voices.
I am also an award winning songwriter and for years taught people to compose. With songwriting, the main focus is the English language at an advanced level. Classes are based on Pat Pattison's course from Berkley, USA.
I have acquired a vast amount of knowledge over a wide range of topics, which makes it very easy for me to adapt to the needs of the student, which is always the main priority.
The main resources I use for learning are current online information centers. This also helps the student stay up to date with current affairs which will greatly assist him in having conversations with other people.
Every student learns in their own unique way which is why every lesson is different. Classes must be stimulating and fun and encourage students to progress and challenge themselves. However, it is important that a student finishes a lesson having a sense of accomplishment and confidence to speak to other people in English.
I enjoy meeting people, especially with different backgrounds. One of the greatest joys of my life is helping people. I have an ability to grasp complex concepts and simplifying it for people to understand.
