About Me
Journalist, Pilot ✈ Traveler
Hello! My name is Juan David, and I'm from Bogotá, Colombia. I'm 34 years old, and I’m both a Commercial Pilot and a Journalist. I have a deep passion for teaching and sharing my love for foreign languages and cultures with others.
Spanish is my native language, but I started learning French when I was 7, English when I was 8, and Italian when I was 13. I’m also currently studying Portuguese, which is an exciting new challenge for me! So, I’ve been there—I know what it feels like to be a student, and I understand the path from not knowing a single word to becoming bilingual. Welcome to this beautiful experience! I’m sure we’re going to have a lot of fun while learning together.
Learning a foreign language isn’t as difficult as many people think—trust me. It just takes practice, patience, confidence, and dedication. In my 15 years of teaching and tutoring, I’ve concluded that having a great time is the best way to learn. So, get ready to share your interests and practice by talking about topics you care about!"
I’ve noticed that many students are shy at first when it comes to speaking, but they always gain confidence over time. That’s why I always encourage them to talk and make mistakes so I can help correct them. After all, making mistakes is a key part of the learning process.
I also want my students to have fun while they’re learning, which is why I let them suggest the topics we’ll discuss in each lesson. I believe that the more engaged you are in the conversation, the better you’ll learn.
When my students are at a basic level, my priority is to create a comfortable environment where they can learn at their own pace. I believe no one should feel rushed or pressured to progress quickly. Everyone learns differently, and I respect that. I also focus on equipping students with practical tools to practice independently outside of our lessons. I’m here to help you achieve your goals—whether it’s traveling, connecting with friends, advancing your career, or simply becoming more fluent for personal growth.
I’m excited to be part of your language-learning journey, and I can’t wait to see all the progress you’ll make. Let’s make this a fun, exciting, and rewarding experience together. See you in class!

I have been Juan's student for over a year now. He is extremely patient and a great teacher overall. I am always learning something new from him, and he makes me want to work harder to improve my Spanish. You won't be disappointed with him as your teacher!

Juan David is very easy to talk to and he has a thorough understanding of English as well as Spanish, so whenever I get hung up in Spanish he can confirm the expression in English and provide the Spanish translation quickly. Very punctual, professional, friendly.
