About Me
My name is Tom and I grew up in and around London, England. I am a native English teacher with over 6 years of teaching experience. I completed an undergraduate degree at Imperial College London in South Kensington and have spent a lot of time exploring the city. From the parks and museums nearby to many of London’s other neighbourhoods and attractions.
My undergraduate degree was in Geophysics and I now employ my scientific mind to language teaching. I teach in a way that is effective, efficient and modern. I have a 160 hour TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate and teach private classes in person as well as online. In addition, I am currently undertaking a Master’s degree in Cognitive and Decision Sciences within the Psychology & Language Sciences department at UCL.
A a teacher, my classes follow a structure that emphasises building on what we know and having clear goals. Classes will vary from student to student and are highly personalised. Depending on what is required and in what time frame, they are structured accordingly.
Although we will set clear goals and learn based on those, my teaching style is relaxed enough to ensure lessons are enjoyable and rewarding for both teacher and student.

I've really enjoyed every each lesson I've had with Thomas, and I'd been struggling with English for years. He is always very well prepared for the lesson with an endless amount of questions:). He is attentive during the lesson, correcting pronunciation when is needed, helping with picking the right words and suggesting alternative words to broaden my vocabulary. I like the materials we've had in lessons, always interesting and informative. I highly recommend Thomas as a teacher because along with learning English you will learn lots of new things. I feel as I've got much more than just confident in speaking English from lessons with Thomas.

Great class. We practised speaking and writing and and this way I am learning how to express myself. Tom always corrects my grammar mistakes and writes in the box message, which is amazing because I can learn lots through mistakes and he explains why. I love every single lesson. Thank you Tom
