السلام عليكم
اسمي فرجينيا وأنا مدرسة منذ عام 2005. درّست اللغة الإسبانية في مراكز وجامعات ومعاهد سرفانت المختلفة في إسبانيا والمغرب والجزائر. لديّ درجة الماجستير في تدريس اللغة الإسبانية كلغة أجنبية ودكتوراه في الدراسات العربية والأندلسية
Virginia is the second Spanish teacher I have had and she is great! The classes are at my tempo, they are interesting and fun and I am learning a lot. She is flexible with her schedule and will go out of her way to help in and out of classes. Gracias Virginia!
Virginia is an excellent teacher. Unlike some online tutors who are only conversation partners, she is an experienced professional teacher who knows her stuff, both in terms of the Spanish language and language teaching skills. She is knowledgeable and explains things well. Moreover, she always tries to help me see the connection between related different words/phrases/grammar items so help me internalise them and expand my vocabulary. In each lesson, she pushes me to think about synonyms or other ways of expressing the same idea, so that I'd be activating vocabulary that may be lying dormant in my head and she'd suggest even more alternatives and point out the subtle differences, if any.
In contrast with teachers who’d only give students an article or a video and then have a conversation about it, Virginia’s lessons have a textbook as framework so that students can be sure their lessons are appropriate for their levels and they do not miss out on important things that they should be learning at their levels. She also supplements her lessons with interesting articles/infographics/videos to deepen students’ understanding of important points, broaden useful vocabulary, and stimulate their interests in the language. She does not stick slavishly to the textbook and would pick the parts which she finds useful/interesting to use in the lessons.
But the best thing above all is that she is really enthusiastic, passionate, fun and engaging. Right from the start, she took time to understand my interests and needs, and since exposure to authentic materials is important for intermediate/advanced learners, she gave me a lot of suggestions so that I could find materials I’m interested in, thereby ensuring that I’d have lots of input of the language. Her enthusiasm was so infectious that my passion was reawakened, and this was especially helpful for someone learning on their own like me. It’s just so easy for independent learners to give up, especially when hitting a plateau. And she really goes out of the way to help me progress, and she says in every lesson that I can ask her anything even when we are not in class. I really appreciate everything she does and find her an outstanding teacher.
