my name is Daniela. I am happy to help anybody who is interested in learning German whether it is just for fun or for work/studies. I have been learning and teaching languages for many years so I have experienced both sides. For me it is important that everybody tries to speak as much as possible and gets confident in doing so. Please, don't be shy and enjoy the process of learning! I am a full-time teacher. So if you can't find any free slots on the schedule, please contact me, and we can organise lessons weekly or some weeks in advance. I will always try to find a suitable slot which fits both of us, especially for those who do not have regular working hours. Our lessons do not have to be on the same day/hour every week!
My lessons focus on conversation/pronunciation/listening comprehension/vocabulary. I'll correct your mistakes and try to make your German sound like a native speaker. If you feel like your conversation is not flowing well, we'll look at the reasons why it is like that. It might be lack of grammatical structures/vocabulary/good and clear pronunciation or just lack of practice! I would like my students to be able to speak to German speakers about anything from small talk to much more complex topics such as sport, literature, cinema, politics - anything you normally would talk about in your mother tongue. For those whose level is not good enough yet for a proper conversation, I'll teach you grammar and vocabulary to get you started.
Even though I am trying to hold the entire lesson in German as much as possible, do not worry if your level is not good enough. I'll speak and explain in English when you don't understand. And for the students who speak Italian, French and/or Spanish, we can have the lessons in your mother tongue if you want.
***Special offer: For advanced students who wish to use German in a creative way and would like to write short stories, longer texts, I would be very happy to help. I love Creative writing and attended many courses and published my first novel in December 2024: "Spätaufbruch" by Daniela Recht.

During the trial lesson we can start speaking German right away if you wish and you can tell me your goals and reasons why you learn German - also in English if you prefer.
It is is a very good way to get to know each other in a very relaxed and informal way. It is just to see if we both would like to work together and if we are a good fit. It's important to me that you feel at ease when speaking to me.
We can also discuss material we use and areas you would like to work on.

Hallo, Leute! I had a lesson, with Daniella she is rather excellent. Very patient with me, I am a total beginner in German. Highly recommend. However, there is a little trouble with the connection on Google Hangouts, but nothing major.

So far, I've only tried out the trial lesson. Considering that my goal is to get better at conversational level, I'm very happy with the format and Daniela's method of teaching. Using Google Hangouts for audio/video communication has proved to be less than ideal choice, as other comments have pointed out.
As a means of comparison, consider that Goethe Institut in Lisbon offers the same "special course" (i.e. you can talk with someone) for B2/C1 courses and for about 8.3 EUR/hour. Verbling usually is slightly more expensive (13.56 EUR/hour), but doesn't impose restrictions on your language level and you can choose with whom you're going to spend time with. Overall, I think it gives the run for one's money.
