Hello! My name is Liubov but usually my friends and students call me Liuba. I’m a Russian native speaker.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE THE FIRST LESSON
I need some information about your Russian learning experience to prepare a lesson in a proper and efficient way. If you are not a complete beginner and have some knowledge of the language, I offer you to do the level test for determining your level of proficiency. This test covers a lot of grammar topics, related to different levels, and it is intended as a guide only. It gives an idea of your proficiency in grammar, but does not take into account your abilities as a speaker.
Usually I interview the student during the first lesson to get to know each other and to understand for what purpose he/she studies Russian. In this way I can assess the student’s speaking skills. With regard to your writing skills, you can send me a composition “About myself”. If you have some preferences in relation to a grammar or conversational topic or both of them for our first lesson, let me know.


MY BACKGROUND
Foreign languages are an integral part of my life. I have been teaching since 2011. In Russia I worked as an English teacher. In Italy I started teaching Russian as a foreign language. As a Russian language teacher I worked at different language centers and at a private university in Pisa. Apart from teaching I work as a translator and interpreter from English and Italian to Russian and viceversa.

TEACHING APPROACH
As a teacher, i have worked in multiple forms: pairs, small groups, large groups. I have taught people with different language levels - from beginners to advanced students.
As a devoted teacher , first of all I’m interested in the progress of my students. Lessons on Verbling site give both teacher and students an opportunity to be autonomous and creative. Unfortunately, it is not always possible in educational organizations. That’s why I always try to prepare lessons to correspond to learning objectives of students. I adhere to a communicative approach because the capacity to survive and to solve problems by applying the foreign language is more important than perfect knowledge of grammar even though I don’t underestimate its significance in a foreign language course. I give attention to all four communication skills (speaking, writing, listening, reading) during my lessons. All of them are very important but i can introduce them in unequal proportion, taking in consideration the learning style of students and their goals. Foreign language is a cultural phenomenon and I find it very important to incorporate information about culture, traditions, as well as the communicative behavior of the people living in the country whose language student is studying .

INFORMAZIONI PERSONALI
Ciao a tutti! Mi chiamo Liubov, ma di solito mi chiamano Liuba. Sono nata e cresciuta in Russia, a Krasnodar. Dopo essermi laureata, sono stata assunta come insegnante di lingua inglese presso un centro linguistico "London School" a Krasnodar; dove ho avuto le possibilità di sviluppare le mie doti professionali. Per approfondire le mie conoscenze linguistiche, nel 2013 mi sono trasferita in Italia per studiare all’ Università di Pisa. In Italia sono entrata in un nuovo ambito lavorativo: l'insegnamento della lingua russa come lingua straniera. Ho insegnato la mia madrelingua presso diverse scuole a Pisa e all’università privata “Scuola superiore per mediatori linguistici”. Oltre all'insegnamento collaboro con diverse aziende e organizzazioni sia in Russia che in Italia,fornendo loro un servizio di traduzione e interpretazione russo-inglese , russo- italiano e viceversa.

APPROCCIO DI INSEGNAMENTO
Ho avuto l'opportunità di lavorare con gruppi più o meno numerosi con persone di diverse età. Insegnavo a gruppi di diverso livello - a principianti assoluti, progrediti e avanzati. Facendo l’insegnante mi sono resa conto di quanto per me insegnare fosse quasi una vocazione, e di quanto mi facesse piacere tutto l’interesse che l’Italia mostra nei confronti della mia cultura.
Essendo insegnante, sono innanzitutto interessata al progresso dei miei studenti. Le lezioni sul sito Verbling danno libertà sia agli studenti che all'insegnante, cosa purtroppo non sempre possibile nei centri d’istruzione per diversi motivi. Per questo cerco sempre di preparare le lezioni tenendo in considerazione gli scopi e i bisogni dei miei studenti. Ci sono diversi metodi d’insegnamento e secondo la mia opinione sarebbe sbagliato seguirne soltanto uno. In base alle conclusioni alle quali sono arrivata imparando e insegnando le lingue straniere, la lingua è un mezzo che serve per risolvere i problemi e sopravvivere. Dunque, ritengo che il metodo comunicativo sia più adatto in questo caso.
Non do per scontata nessuna abilità linguistica: lettura, ascolto, scrittura e parlato. Tutte e quattro sono importanti però posso applicarle in misura diversa, prendendo in considerazione lo stile dell’apprendimento dello studente. Bisogna aggiungere inoltre che la lingua fa parte della cultura. In conseguenza di ciò, considero opportuno introdurre informazioni riguardanti costumi e peculiarità del comportamento dei parlanti nativi della lingua studiata dallo studente.
