About Me
Over 5000 hours of private Japanese lesson experience with over 200 students.
Let me share my passion for languages with you. I am a native Japanese speaker who has lived around the world. As an adult, I learned English and Spanish, and now I'm also studying Chinese and Russian.
For beginners, I find it best to start by learning basic grammar and vocabulary.
For intermediate level and above, it depends on your preference, we can focus on conversation or working on JLPT exam, read news articles together, etc.
I have over 7 years of experience working for Japanese and American financial firms in Tokyo's financial district. Much of that experience involved verbal and written translation between senior Japanese and American business people.
If you are starting a new job with a Japanese firm, or have a temporary posting in Japan, I can help you prepare with the language and skills necessary to succeed!

I have been taking classes with Akiko-sensei for over 6 months now and I have made more progress than I would have dreamt of. She is a very competent and enthusiastic teacher and, above all, she tailors her teaching to the specific needs of her students.
