About Me
Hello!
My name is Annika and I am a Russian and Estonian as a foreign language teacher from Estonia. I am bilingual, I'm native in two languages - Russian and Estonian. I chose to teach Russian because it's more challenging and full of development opportunities. I am qualified language teacher, I gained my Bachelor degree in Slavic philology in the University of Tartu and Master's in Education Innovation system, where I specialized on innovating language teaching methods and developing new more efficient materials to help students gain a speaking skills. Currently, I work at the museum as museum educator, but I have a lot of experience in adult education - within 5 years I teached in a school Russian as foreign language, conducted a course of the Russian language at the University of Tartu and one in the Tartu Vocational Education Center.
My teaching style is very flexible, I do consider my students' wants, needs, and targets, so the learning phase would be the most efficient. I find important to teach real language, how natives speak and develope great speaking and listening skills, which are the most essential when using the language. Of course I trach grammar, because you can't reach fluency without it, but I try to teach grammar naturally, through language learning, that's why I use pop-up grammar methods to help emerge grammar rules into everyday language learning.
