Bonjour !
My name is Alexandra, I am from France and live in the United States. I have been tutoring French for 8 years online and in person mostly one-on-one with adult learners from beginner to advanced levels. As someone who has lived in both France and the United States, I like to bring a cultural insight to my teaching. I believe that learning a language goes beyond just vocabulary and grammar, but it's about understanding the cultural nuances and connections. My goal is to make your French learning experience not only educational but also culturally enriching!
In our lessons, I use resources like videos, podcasts, and audio materials to help you learn in real-life situations. You'll engage in fun activities and exercises to develop your vocabulary, listening skills, and pronunciation. We'll focus mainly on speaking French. Through structured conversations, role-plays, and debates, to improve your speaking skills and gain confidence.
I will also make sure that our lessons align with your goals and interests, personalizing our class as much as possible.
I exclusively work with adults from beginner to advanced levels. For beginners, I can teach in English initially until you understand enough to transition to French.
Beyond teaching you language skills, I want to make sure you feel supported and encouraged to speak confidently. Whether you're just starting to feel comfortable chatting or aiming to improve your French, I'll be here to help you every step of the way!

Alexandra is the best! She is really an extremely special find. She is the best teacher in any language I do. No one is more prepared, more generous with materials, more ready to take you to the next level than her. She is kind, a fantastic conversationalist, patient, extremely knowledgable, and very clear to understand and work on accent with. If you're serious about French, this is the person to take with.

I would highly recommend Alex for any intermediate or advanced French speakers. The weekly materials she sends before each class are very interesting and make for engaging conversation. She has also gone the extra mile for me on many occasions by researching and recommending additional French language learning materials. Most importantly, however, she creates a relaxed and comfortable learning environment in her classes, allowing her students to feel at ease as they learn a new/second language. Merci Alex!!
